The taj restaurant is collaborating with Northern Superior to offer a true IPA (India Pale Ale) Called Kingsher A beer that relates to the locals and the shermen who battle the big Gitche Gumee. Back in the early 1800's, England held a large colonial presence in India. The soldiers, sailors and civilians had a huge appetite for beer. Trouble was, the voyage to India was long, and by the time the ship made land beers had spoiled. The hot climate of India made it impossible to produce beer and a pale ale was imported and enjoyed by locals as well. Once the brewers realize high alcohol and hop levels would retard spoilage this process became what we know as IPA (India Pale Ale)
